Quoted over the phone for a engine cooling replacement $ X and when the Mobile Tech Mechanic Arrived - He went about doing an Assessment and Requoting the Job,What i couldnt reconcile and Ultimately Why i simply paid the cancelation fee ($199) was between 1stQuote by the owner and 2nd Quote by on-sight Mechanic the two values were $1600 apart/ I understand business has overheads,right to ROI After carefully reviewing the Quoted job,watching the mechanic return with 3 newer offer Quotes -wiping off $230 cost ....A simple chat with AI (claude,gpt and Mechanical AI..) And even the AI advisory was stumped at the quoted difference... this would have been my 2nd interaction with Ace Mechanical the 1st was a huge job that involved 2days of labour,rebuild of engine costing $2k, and the 2nd job-half that time & yet quoted $1900... A silver lining does exist however... If price isnt an issue- the Mechanical work done on 1st job- was faultless And My vehicle was returned to the driving reliability,high performance and ride comfort (as it was experienced on dealer delivery) 18years earlier.
