AMC Performance and Mechanical

Took my 2012 golf in for an oil leak inspection and was told that the engine was unrepairable and needed an engine swap. I took it to VW for a second opinion and was told a completely different story and that it will only cost me a few hundred dollars to fix (a lot cheaper than the $6k that I was quoted by AMC). AMC was not even close to what the issue was. They said that it could have had either a blocked PCV valve or a cracked piston and that the compression test showed 90 per piston. VW found that there was a blown fuse that caused my secondary fan and water pump to fail and that the intake manifold needed to be replaced. The compression test also came back with the expected readings. And in regards to the oil leaks, they will just need to be fixed with a couple of new gaskets and O-rings.
