Melville Hyundai

I went to Hyundai after seeing their advertised car service offer, which included a free wash and vacuum valued at $50. It might not sound like a big deal, but I specifically chose Hyundai over other options because of that promotion — and they didn’t follow through. Initially, the service seemed great: friendly, helpful, and professional. I also paid $15 extra for a hire car. However, when I arrived to collect the hire car, I was told they needed to take a photo of my ID on a staff member’s personal phone — something I felt was a serious privacy and security risk. Since they had no alternative method of collecting my ID, I couldn’t get the hire car at all. When I returned to collect my own car, I realised it hadn’t been washed or vacuumed as promised. When I asked about it, they said they could do it, but I’d have to wait 40 minutes — this was late in the day, so I declined. I later emailed customer service to raise my concerns, but received no reply. After chasing it up, I finally got a dismissive and rude response, and when I replied again, I never heard back. The whole experience felt misleading, and once they had my money, the professionalism vanished. While the free wash might seem minor, it was part of their advertised offer and the reason I chose them in the first place. Not delivering on it — and handling my concerns so poorly — has cost them my trust. I will not be returning. Would have given them one star, if it wasn't for Zoe who was very polite.
