Subject: Formal Complaint – Request for Refund and Charge Review I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the service provided and the charges applied. During the initial phone call, Lawrence explained the work required and recommended servicing the air conditioning system, which I agreed to. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the compressor had failed. Despite this, I was still charged for servicing a component that was not operational. This is unreasonable and not acceptable. In addition, I asked about using Afterpay and was advised there would be a 13% cost. This was not clearly explained. I reasonably understood this to be a standard surcharge similar to normal transaction fees (approximately 0.38%). Based on a total of $550, this would amount to approximately $2.09. Instead, I was charged a total of $621.50. This is a significant discrepancy and was not clearly disclosed or agreed to prior to payment. This reflects a lack of transparency and misleading communication regarding pricing. I am requesting the following: • A full and itemised breakdown of all charges • A clear explanation as to why I was charged for servicing a failed compressor • A refund of the incorrect and excessive charges applied, particularly relating to the Afterpay fee If this matter is not resolved within 5 business days, I will escalate this complaint to Queensland Office of Fair Trading for further investigation.
