Romsey Auto Care was established in 1990 by Peter Newell and has been looking after the Romsey community and surrounding districts ever since, working from 33 Main Street, Romsey, Victoria. They are a family owned and operated workshop serving the Macedon Ranges, and their services run from a full range of tyre brands through to LPG servicing and repairs, roadworthy certificates and everyday mechanical work.

Who will customers deal with?

Peter Newell founded the business and still leads it, with his son now the workshop manager. Behind them is a team of seven mechanics including a full time assembly fitter, which gives the workshop the depth to take on most jobs in house. The business is proud of its place in the community and routinely donates to local charities and support groups.

What do they specialise in?

Diagnosis, front end alignment and steering and suspension repairs are their named specialties, and the workshop is set up to trace faults properly rather than work through parts. Their broader experience means they also take on general mechanical repairs of most kinds, so the specialty sits inside a full service workshop.

What servicing do they provide?

New car handbook servicing is another specialty, offered on all makes and models and carried out to the manufacturer schedule so a new car warranty is maintained. General and logbook servicing covers petrol, diesel and LPG vehicles, with mechanics fully certified for each.

What tyres do they supply?

​

Romsey Auto Care stock a full range of tyre brands at competitive prices and are a dealer for Michelin, BFGoodrich, ARB and Cooper, supplying and fitting tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, 4WDs and light commercials. Front end alignment is carried out in the same visit, which gets longer life from a new set.

What inspections and certificates can they issue?

They are a licensed tester in Victoria for light vehicles and LPG vehicles, so they can issue roadworthy certificates for a sale or transfer of ownership. Pre purchase inspections are also available for buyers looking at a used vehicle, and they can provide an estimated cost of repairs to factor into the decision.

Do they look after work and fleet vehicles?

Work utes, vans and 4WDs are serviced, tyred and certified alongside family cars, and with an assembly fitter on staff and 4WD accessory fitting available, business and fleet vehicles can be set up as well as maintained.

What conveniences are offered?

Customers leaving a car for a service can be driven home, or a loan car can be provided for the time the work takes, subject to availability. The business also operates Romsey Auto Sales, a local used vehicle outlet.
