Wheels are an essential part of your car's visual appearance and performance. Like every other part that goes on your car, there are lots to know, so we've put everything all in one convenient place.
Do wheels need to be replaced over time?
Wheels generally don’t have specified replacement intervals. You only need to replace your wheels if they sustain unrepairable damage such as cracked spokes or large buckles. A lot of wheel damage can be repaired.
Can damaged wheels be repaired?
Yes. Most surface wheel damage can be repaired. Some damage can’t, however, such as cracked spokes or very large buckles.
What are car wheels made of?
Car wheels are most commonly made from either steel or alloy. Carbon fibre can also be used to construct wheels for high-performance cars but it can be expensive.
What is wheel balancing?
Wheel balancing, sometimes known as tyre balancing, is a process undertaken to balance the weight of a tyre and wheel assembly so that it travels evenly and prevents it from causing a shake or vibration.
