A commitment to engineering innovation and manufacturing excellence has helped KYB to become one of the world’s largest suppliers of shock absorbers, with one in every five vehicles built fitted with KYB shocks and struts.

This commitment to continual innovation has manifested itself in what is widely regarded as the most extensive range of vehicle-specific shock absorbers and struts designed to cater for all driving conditions.

Combined, there are a total of nine KYB Sub Brands, each specifically designed to meet the needs of different driving styles and applications.

The most recent additions to the KYB range include the following brands: Tena Force for Standard Height Heavy Duty applications, New SR Special for performance upgrades to Japanese imports and the Ultra SR range designed specifically for performance upgrades to imported European models.

With such an extensive range on offer, there is a shock absorber to suit every driving style and application, but the complexity of the range can make it a little difficult to choose the exact shock absorber.

With a total of nine KYB Sub Brands now available, each with their own unique specifications and applications, KYB have launched an innovative Shock Selector featuring important technical information, that allows both automotive professionals and drivers to quickly and easily identify the KYB brand that best suits their requirements. Once the brand has been selected, finding the specific shock absorber is easy using the KYB Part Finder.

The Excel-G, Gas-a-just and Premium brands are designed specifically for OE replacement and will help restore a vehicle’s original handling and control. These three brands cover an extensive range of vehicles including passenger, light commercial and heavy commercial applications.

For utes, couriers and wagons/SUV applications, the all-new Tena Force range offers a 15-20% firmer dampening force on both compression and rebound, making it the right choice for standard height vehicles that tow regularly or carry heavy payloads.

Of course, if you’re looking for a shock absorber that is tough enough to hit some harder trails, then the Skorched 4’s range is the way to go. Skorched 4’s are heavy duty and designed for lifted vehicles of up to 50mm and are 20% softer on the compression stroke and 80% firmer on rebound compared to the Excel-G range of OE replacement shockers.

If it’s performance you’re after, KYB has four different offerings to suit drivers who like a sportier driving experience.

The NEW SR Special range has been designed for high-performance Japanese vehicles and the ULTRA SR Range is for European imports. Both feature a 15-20% firmer dampening force on both compression and rebound strokes when compared to the Excel-G range.

Those drivers who like to push the limits on the track and who are chasing superior on-road handling that only an adjustable shock absorber can provide, are covered with the Extage and AGX performance ranges.

The Extage range contains shock absorbers with matched coil springs that include either eight or 32 levels of Damping Force adjustment, while the AGX range of Shock absorbers offers four or eight levels of adjustment.

The new KYB Shock Selector takes the complexity out of choosing the right shock absorber for each individual application.
