The service itself at Australian Mechanical was great, no issues with the car after being serviced, it physically felt smoother and ran better, so thanks Australian Mechanical! The only reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the extras that I had added onto the service which weren’t actually done when I picked my car up. I booked through Auto Guru and whilst booking I wrote some notes about my car that I wanted checked during the service, and also selected a free clean and the drop off / pick up service which was for if you lived 5km or under. When I called Australian Mechanical on the morning of the service to confirm about the drop off / pick up, they didn’t have that knowledge readily available because they said ‘Yep, sure we can organise that’, but I’d already selected it weeks prior so I think they should’ve been aware of it already. But that’s not a big deal, they were happy to organise it anyway. So I dropped my car off, but just to make sure that all the extras would be included (clean and my notes I wrote to check), I mentioned this to the guys at the front counter. They didn’t have my Auto Guru print out on them and had to have a read through then and there (so I felt that it hadn’t been looked at until now that is mentioned it). I specifically asked if the clean was included, and they said yes it definitely is they will gladly do that. So I thought, great, that’ll all be done for me. I got dropped back home to wait until my car was finished. I got called about any further maintenance before it happened so that was great. I got picked up to be taken to the workshop towards the end of the day which was all good, everything was fine. But when I got in my car I realised no clean had been done despite both it being on my Auto Guru selection, and mentioning it to the mechanics as I was dropping my car off. Perhaps they were very busy that day or simply forgot, but if you advertise for a free clean of the car, AND the customer reminds you prior to the service, it should really have been done. The thing that actually attracted me to go with Australian Mechanical over other workshops was the free clean, and I didn’t actually get it in the end. So perhaps they need to coordinate a bit better with Auto Guru bookings to make sure they know beforehand what the customer has requested, instead of fumbling around for it on the day. And ensuring they carry out all the extras that they advertised and the customer selected. Other than that, the service itself was great which is the most important part anyway, so thanks again!

This is the FIRST time this has EVER been done by any service department on any of the ten vehicles or so I have sent for scheduled services. It is there on the list every time and the $2.00 is charged every time but these guys actually did it. A simple thing but a ridiculous thing to routinely overlook as appears to be the 'industry' standard. So well done Midas...... I can safely assume all the other fluids were checked and replaced too. And you actually adjusted the handbrake also the way I like it... ie so it works!

Tony was available first hand to discuss matters of importance and phoned during service to advise of things that should be attended to immediately. Whilst no one wants to pay out money for unneeded jobs the discussions were descriptive and later the old items replaced were voluntarily shown as evidence. Excellent experience!

The service was done correctly as it appears and they were friendly and helpful but trustworthy was lost when we were advised that front brakes needed to be done when not required. Vehicle was supposed to be borderline un-roadworthy but we were not advised prior to vehicle collection, it came across as a upsell attempt as we hadn't noticed any braking limitations prior to the vehicle been serviced, nor upon leaving the service centre.
