mycar Tyre & Auto Mackay is a tyre and mechanical workshop at Mount Pleasant in Mackay, North Queensland mycar Tyre & Auto Mackay is based in Mt Pleasant Shopping Centre, entered off Malcolmson Street near Mackay Bucasia Road, Mount Pleasant, Queensland. Glen and a team of qualified technicians cover tyres, logbook servicing, safety certificate inspections and mechanical repairs for cars, SUVs, utes and 4WDs, serving Mackay and the surrounding coastal towns. What does the store handle day to day? The store works as a tyre shop and a mechanical workshop together. Tyre work covers new tyre supply and fitting, puncture repairs where the tyre can be saved, wheel balancing and wheel alignment, including fitting tyres bought online through mycar. On the mechanical side there is logbook servicing to the manufacturer's schedule, battery testing and replacement, and air conditioning regassing. Which repairs are carried out in the workshop? The technicians take on brake repairs, clutch replacement, gearbox repairs, exhaust repairs, radiator repairs, timing belt replacement, head gasket repairs and general car repairs, with diagnostics used to identify a fault before work starts. Suspension scanning checks the condition of shock absorbers and springs, and windscreen repairs can be organised through the store. Can they do a safety certificate? Roadworthy and safety inspections are on the service list, so a Queensland owner needing a safety certificate to sell or re-register a vehicle can have the inspection carried out at the store. What makes it easy to fit a service in? An after hours key drop lets a car be left outside trading hours, and there is waiting room seating, wheelchair accessible access and free parking validation for those visiting during the day. A bus stop and taxi rank sit about five minutes walk away. Fleet and business vehicles are looked after at the store too, from tyres and scheduled servicing to mechanical repairs. Mackay drivers have tyres, servicing, safety inspections and repairs available in the one workshop at Mount Pleasant. ... view more
