Very honest and helpful!

SAE Automotive provides car servicing, brake and air conditioning repairs in Mitchell, Canberra SAE Automotive is a licensed mechanical workshop at 2/36 Grimwade Street, Mitchell, Australian Capital Territory, in Canberra's northern industrial area. The workshop services all makes and models, covering passenger vehicles, SUVs and light commercial vehicles, and it is a member of the Motor Traders Association. Its work reaches drivers across Mitchell, Gungahlin, Belconnen, Bruce, Dickson, Civic, Fyshwick and the surrounding ACT suburbs. Who will you deal with at SAE Automotive? Scott Elrick runs the workshop and is the mechanic behind its approach of integrity, experience and pride in the work. Customers are told exactly what has been done to their vehicle and why, and they are kept informed as a job progresses so decisions about repairs are made with the full picture. Scott also writes practical guides for Canberra drivers on subjects such as reading warning lights and preparing a car for the local winter. What vehicle servicing is available? Servicing covers logbook servicing along with minor and major services for all makes and models. A logbook service follows the manufacturer's schedule for the vehicle, which is what keeps a new car warranty valid, while minor and major services take in the routine maintenance an older car needs to keep running properly. Every service is documented so the owner has a clear record of the work. What brake work is carried out? Brakes are one of the workshop's main areas. That includes brake inspections, brake pad replacement, rotor machining to restore a true braking surface, brake fluid flushes and full brake system repairs. Machining rotors in preference to replacing them where they are still within tolerance keeps the cost of a brake job down for the owner. What air conditioning work is done? The team is ARCtick certified, which is the licensing required in Australia to handle refrigerant, and they carry out air conditioning regas, leak detection, system diagnostics and repairs. Leak detection matters on a system that has been regassed before and lost its charge again, because it locates where the refrigerant is escaping so that point can be repaired. How are faults diagnosed? Diagnosis is done with computerised fault scanning, covering engine warning lights, electrical faults and running problems. The scan data is used to narrow down the cause before any parts are ordered, which keeps the repair targeted. Can business fleets be serviced? Yes. SAE Automotive runs a fleet servicing arrangement for Canberra businesses with priority scheduling, and it is an approved workshop for AutoGuru and Blue Toro fleet work. Logbook servicing, brakes, air conditioning and diagnostics for a fleet of cars, SUVs or light commercial vehicles can all be handled through the one workshop. From logbook servicing and brake repairs to air conditioning and fault diagnosis, SAE Automotive looks after Canberra drivers and business fleets from its Mitchell workshop. ... view more

Very good, honest and transparent service.

Paul Whyte Automotive is an independent car servicing and repair workshop in Gungahlin, Canberra Paul Whyte Automotive is a mechanical workshop at 3/4 O'Brien Place, Gungahlin, Australian Capital Territory, in Gungahlin's light industrial pocket on the northern side of Canberra. The workshop looks after drivers from Gungahlin and the surrounding Canberra districts, handling car servicing, brakes and clutches, suspension, tyres and wheels, and registration inspections. The team works on all makes and models, from routine maintenance through to more involved repairs. What car servicing do they carry out? Servicing covers logbook and general servicing, with the vehicle checked over as part of the job so anything wearing out is picked up and reported. Century batteries are used for battery replacement, and oil, filters and fluids are dealt with as part of a standard service. The workshop's approach is to explain what a vehicle actually needs so owners are not pushed into repairs or parts they do not require. What brake, clutch and suspension work is available in Gungahlin? Brake and clutch work is one of the areas the workshop is set up for, covering pad and disc replacement, brake system repairs and clutch replacement on both manual and automatic vehicles. Suspension work is also handled, from worn shocks and struts through to steering and ride quality complaints, with the vehicle assessed before parts are recommended. What about tyres and wheels? Tyres and wheels are supplied and fitted at the workshop, so tyre replacement, rotation and balancing can be done at the same time as a service rather than at a separate business. Do they do registration inspections? Paul Whyte Automotive carries out registration inspections and is set up to complete any repairs a vehicle needs to pass, which keeps the inspection and the follow up work with the one workshop. The staff are trained specifically for the inspection work and for keeping vehicles road safe. Do they service business and fleet vehicles? Work vehicles and small business fleets are serviced alongside private cars, with servicing, repairs and inspections scheduled around keeping the vehicle available. A courtesy car service is available for customers who need to keep moving while their vehicle is in the workshop. Paul Whyte Automotive covers servicing, brakes, suspension, tyres and registration inspections for drivers across Gungahlin and Canberra. ... view more

As always Paul Whyte automotive is hands down one of, if not the best mechanic shop in Canberra. Their communication, attention to detail and no bull is second to none.

GenTech Automotive & Performance Centre is a Holden and performance workshop in Mitchell, Canberra GenTech Automotive & Performance Centre is a mechanical workshop at 3 / 34 Hoskins Street, Mitchell, in the Gungahlin district of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. They specialise in Holden and high performance vehicles and in diesel tuning, and they also carry out the everyday work any workshop handles, from logbook servicing to brakes, air conditioning and auto electrical repairs. Marcus leads a team of mechanics with more than a century of combined experience between them, and the workshop is an ACDelco Service Centre. What performance work do they specialise in? Performance is where the workshop is best known. They build engines in house, including stroker engine builds, and they fit complete exhaust systems, cold air intakes and high flow induction. Engine management work covers ECU recalibration and LS1 Edit for Holden V8s, and they change differential ratios and upgrade brakes and suspension to match the extra power. The team takes the time to understand how a vehicle is actually used before recommending upgrades, so the result suits the driver rather than just the spec sheet. What does their diesel tuning involve? Diesel tuning is a substantial part of their work, particularly for utes and 4WDs such as the HiLux, LandCruiser and Patrol. They carry out custom ECU remapping that is dyno tested, adjusting engine settings for more torque, sharper throttle response and, in many cases, better fuel economy. Dyno testing means the result is measured on the workshop equipment rather than estimated, which matters when a vehicle is towing or carrying weight. What general servicing and repairs do they do? Alongside the performance side, GenTech handles logbook and warranty book servicing to keep a new vehicle warranty in place, plus general mechanical repairs across a wide range of makes and models. Their work includes transmission repairs and recalibrations, differential repairs, brake and suspension work, air conditioning service and repair, and auto electrical diagnostics and repairs. They inspect first and recommend only the work a vehicle genuinely needs. What can customers expect? Customers deal with the mechanics directly and are talked through the options and what each one will do, which suits both drivers wanting a straightforward service and owners planning a modified build. Loan cars are available for customers who need to keep moving while their vehicle is in the workshop. What do they provide for fleet operators? Fleet servicing and repairs are part of their regular work, covering scheduled servicing, mechanical repairs and diagnostics for work utes, vans and light commercials. For operators running diesel utes, the tuning side is available as well where a vehicle needs to work harder under load. GenTech Automotive & Performance Centre services, repairs and tunes vehicles for Canberra drivers from their Mitchell workshop. ... view more

All work is done as per the service book. Gave me a loan car for the day. Called during the day to give recommendations of worn brakes etc and ask for authority to proceed. All finished in a timely manner. Good conversation at pickup, and advised of items to be aware of in the next twelve months.
